Pai small as a mosquito’s eye, rent a motorbike to go 30 minutes is exhausting:).) Walking round goes round again well done téo 1. His personal batch in a hotel a 3 km range, recreation, but very quiet, scenic, rest, health resorts adores. Cheap motorbike hire, 150bath/day spoiled launched Surin travel game. In particular, carrying 3 is and don’t need helmets haha:))

-February is the dry season, water stress should not need playing rafting

-Cheap tickets that soup Should fly from BKK to Chiangmai for it health

-Capital Ayutthaya should hire a private car to carry it yourself go zone and wait. Rather than take the train/minivan to the car rental and also tired.

-Chiangmai tour goes slightly tired, got the White Temple cannot be ignored because it is the only white pagoda in Thailand and it’s beautiful. Hot springs and the Orchid Garden is nervous step nail right and shit.

-In Chiang mai has a night market and night bazzar, two near each other, looking at a map is found. But eating, shopping in the cheaper Night market must Night Bazzar, yes you do.

-Tour in Chiangmai for very late lunch, from 3-4 h new dimension be escorted away to eat that food, then as for pigs should preferably prepared food on the car yourself or emasculating it don’t have that limp away í. Rent a motorbike ride, but also rent tuk tuk ride away Hill and the village of box for it to idle. The Hill of Suthep is 600bath and 400bath is the umbrella village (vehicles can go are 12 people)

-The airport London Airport is handy rolls Muong damn wind, then taxi wait languished ko to weekly, the MRT train, don’t like the other airport. Bus stop and end her child at the Information says bus 59 about Khaosan, Marina, then people say not, the car, the car accessories and drivers don’t speak half-word. Terrible loss of time should best jump out to big sugar, getting great cab, as measured by a clock that goes for fast

-Wifi in airport every sign up email, your name is on it. Chat chít lia lịa

-From London to Southern bus catch the A1, Mochit price 30bath/person

-This is the second time in Khaosan but honestly found it boring business. Houses cramped, secret, wild, loud trumpet expensive. Front desk very attitude say bullshit. From here go where also inconvenient, difficult, then catch bus, MRT, skytrain far Titus blind. All must wear both tuk tuk and taxi-> no fun. Only next time try and hunt tickets go to Surbaravumi airport, Vietjetair’s other end, catch the train to the Pratunam in for it.

SAPA – A MISTY TOWN

Sapa is a mountain village, located at 1650 meters altitude. This hill station was founded by the French in 1922, the only village in the north of Vietnam, which was developed as touristy. Its concept is designed so that you can fully enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and rice paddies. Meanwhile, only further built (especially large hotel buildings), all logic is lost unfortunately.

The village is divided by the main square and the church in two parts. It is also an important market for the mountain population (especially H’Mong and Red Dzao tribes) from the surrounding small traditional villages, which brighten up the town with their colorful traditional attire. The rise of the abundant tourism is the life of the hill tribes radically changed.

The coldest months are January and February here, when there really dominates a winter (sometimes it ever dares to snow).

We travel by night train from Hanoi to Sapa, a new experience that suits us just under the strong rocking of the train. Yet we are reasonably well rested in the beautiful mountain environment. The village itself is not that appealing. The many ugly concrete buildings with hotel accommodation between smaller copies in colonial style make it truly a cacophony of.

Upon arrival in Sapa is our van immediately surrounded by a small group of females (young and old, often with babies on their backs), dressed in their colorful traditional costumes. We can distinguish different styles depending on their village and tribe of origin. When we get them off us kindly greet and speak to us, each tourist has been quick single to his leg … Here they all ask the same questions that we seek to continue to meet with as much patience. “Where do you come from? ‘,’ What’s your name? ‘,’ How old are you?” … And so on. They speak better English than many other Vietnamese.
First, we do not fully understand it, there follows no form of ‘selling’. When we later in the day exploring the village, they will be back. Surely odd … but after a while sometimes evolving conversation: “Will you go to visit my village? ” Later shop, eh?” And some dare to offer even metal bracelets and crafts. We suspect that they are here in town not allowed to sell souvenirs to tourists outside the market, hence their cautious ‘commercial’ approach …

Here we are once again faced with an incredible number of tourists, like most places in Vietnam, but the females are still many more …

We are going to inquire into the tourism office, the name does not have to be commercial, an exception in Vietnam. Here they sell hiking maps … walking in the village is ok, but who wants to go more than a few km far has definitely need a guide, it is claimed here. With information they really are not generous … if we had the wrong person in front of us?

Based on a hiking we plot a walking route, past some small traditional villages, amongst the most beautiful rice terraces. And we take the risk out … go out without a guide!

Initially, we again followed by the females, we try to make clear after a while that we like to walk alone and that we will not buy anything. It takes a while, but they eventually disappointed dripping off … maybe because they can not follow us walking pace with their small steps.

Some times we have to repeat this story because we are repeatedly by a group of females ‘discovered’.

The way we see very few tourists, the individuals we encounter have with a private guide. Groups not we all see on this route. When in doubt, we ask the way to the local people that pop up here and there. It finally seems to work!

We are very pleased with our chosen route and enjoy the beautiful walk through the many beautiful rice terraces. Too bad they are not green … wrong season.

After some 20 km (perhaps this is the reason that we are so few tourists come), we return to the road. We come from a very touristy village is overrun by tourists … all the way, we found no dirt along the path or in villages, it is here full of it … especially the wrappers of the candy that many tourists are generously distributed to the local children.

Without a problem we find here two (taxi) mopeds us take the back to Sapa.

Numb with cold we look for a restaurant where the fireplace is lit for dinner. At lunchtime it is only 15 ° C … Fortunately, Marc found a hotel room with electric blankets so that we can warm up overnight.

Excursions:

day hike in the area:

We leave the village on the south side and take a downhill. The first part of this route goes along a narrow highway, where too much traffic to our liking. After some 3 km, we take right onto a declining path (towards village Y Ling Ho) so after some curves down to get out on the river, which we cross via a narrow wooden bridge. Once across the river, we walk a short distance to the right, where we come to the village. We turn our steps to follow the left path which more or less parallel to the river, up and down. Along the way we pass some small villages such as Lao Chai Sang, Ly Lao Chai, Ta Van. When the school building of Lao Chai are over, we descend to the river. Here we arrive at the tourist Ta Chai, we are clearly in the vicinity of the road. We look around before taking the broad path to the bridge, which rises across the road. The houses are here (taxi) mopeds with driver offered to take us back to Sapa.

On the small houses along the way you can here and there is very limited buy drinks at one place even offered a meal.
